De (geliefde) performance artiest Brian Lobel slaagde er niet in om toegelaten te worden tot het New York State Choir. De (veelgeprezen) Sopraan Gweneth-Ann Rand (4.48 Psychosis, Royal Opera House; Aida, English National Opera) slaagde er niet in te winnen bij Cardiff Singer of the World. Deze twee prachtige mislukkelingen hebben hun krachten gebundeld met Allyson Devenish, Naomi Felix en enkele Rotterdamse gasten om een show te maken over je best doen, proberen te behagen en hoe we ooit weten of we ‘goed genoeg’ zijn.

Er is geen dresscode… maar je wordt niet geweigerd als je een hoge hoed of zijden handschoenen aantrekt, mocht je in de stemming zijn.

A show about failure, by two award-winning failures
(Beloved) performance artist Brian Lobel failed to get into the New York State Choir. (Acclaimed) Soprano Gweneth-Ann Rand (4.48 Psychosis, Royal Opera House; Aida, English National Opera) failed to win at Cardiff Singer of the World. These two magnificent failures have joined forces with Allyson Devenish, Naomi Felix, and some local Rotterdam guests, to create a show about trying your best, aiming to please and how we ever know if we are ‘good enough’.

There’s no dress code…but you won’t be turned away for donning a top hat or silky gloves, should the mood strike you.
