Dit voorjaar beleefde het Utrechtse Cafe Theater Festival twee pilot edities in andere steden: Rotterdam (25 en 26 maart) en Arnhem (16 en 17 april). Tijdens deze edities koos het publiek de winnaar van het festival. Isabel Pronk won in Rotterdam, Mireia Varón en Naomi Schouten in Arnhem.

Mireia Varón Gallofré & Naomi Schouten – Have A Seat
De wereld zet ons onder druk om altijd te streven naar de best mogelijke versie van wie je kunt zijn, in plaats van je “gebreken” te omhelzen en te accepteren. Er zijn veel ongeschreven regels, normen en verwachtingen die het duo fascineert, omdat ze simpel gezegd niet haalbaar zijn. Door social media laten wij een perfect plaatje naar de buitenwereld zien. Wij willen deze filters afbreken. Wat achter perfectionisme schuilgaat, is wat echt interessant is. Het duo confronteert zichzelf met het idee: als echte perfectie niet bestaat, waar streven we dan naar? Wat zijn onze normen? Wat zijn wij zonder alle filters? Wat is de échte jij? Er zit zoveel moois in de imperfecties.

The world pressures us to always strive to be the best possible version of who you can be, instead of embracing and accepting your “flaws.” There are many unwritten rules, standards and expectations that fascinate the duo because, simply put, they are not achievable. Through social media, we show a perfect picture to the outside world. We want to break down these filters. What lies behind perfectionism is what is truly interesting. The duo confronts themselves with the idea: if true perfection does not exist, what are we striving for? What are our standards? What are we without all the filters? What is the real you? There is so much beauty in the imperfections.
